As much as I’m pro-Union, the police unions need to be dismantled. Next time the police go on strike, cities should hire members of the community as scabs, not give them guns for patrol, and replace the police force while giving them the training the police should have had in de-escalation and non-violent apprehension. Which should be illegal itself. Not only are firemen actually respected, but fire is also a much more serious and pressing issue than most police have ever had to deal with.I’ve been listening to Stuff You Should Know (and if anyone reading this doesn’t listen to ’em, check ’em out) in a binging kind of way this quarantine and they do a Philadelphia City It’s In My Dna Shirt great episode on the MOVE… incident?
Atrocity? This morning I just listened to the one on the Stonewall uprising. It’s made me amazed how many miscarriages of justice have been perpetrated by some form of our own state. Like, I’m already a thoroughly anti-statist guy and am shocked how much more there is to know about this country and crimes committed against its own people. The phrase absolute power comes to mind. They haven’t had anyone to stop them, so they can do whatever they want. They feel threatened and end up resorting to more violence because that’s what they’ve always relied on and as that power is waning because everyone has a very good quality video camera in their hands to further end the corruption that’s rampant in police forces. I live in Europe and met a lot of Philadelphia City It’s In My Dna Shirt Americans at the university I go to. We weren’t properly familiar with the town during my first year, so sometimes after nights out when we would get lost walking back to campus or trying to find the bus station.
