And here we are at a pretty basic human drive. Will you hire the person who brings issues to attention, goes out of their way to make things better, and doesn’t care how the public reacts? Or the one who works to keep things contained, doesn’t make a fuss, and won’t cause you to have to deal with extra shit outside of work hours? Most people will say the former. And then actually hire the latter. I suspect the situation takes on many more shades when you’re making a hiring decision and are being told “I have a history of blowing up budgets and potentially getting people, such as yourself, fired, but it was morally right” That’s not to say that she didn’t do the right thing.
