If You Like My Mountains You’ll Love My Busch Shirt
I had to immediately think of this neat National Geographic video about the Ibex climbing a dam in Italy. It has some nice detailed shots of the feet in action, and also some explanations. Also, I love how weird it always looks at seeing them on the dam. I’m curious about the actual science behind this. Is it that their eyes are working so fast that they are quickly scanning and choosing the bricks that are sticking further out for their legs, or is it that their legs and hooves are so unbelievably controlled and sensitive that no matter what brick they step on, they’re able to balance? Does anybody know? You forgot the fact that their left legs are shorter than their right to accommodate the If You Like My Mountains You’ll Love My Busch Shirt slope. Unfortunately, this means that they can only go around a mountain counterclockwise.
It’s unfortunately not taught at schools anymore, so these sorts of facts appear to be a little stretched for the average person. Just like how giraffes have short necks proportionate to their bodies, which means they have to splay their legs in a rather odd way to allow them to reach pools of water. I always wonder if they get that far up cause they want to or cause they maybe are plotting an If You Like My Mountains You’ll Love My Busch Shirt pathway and it just ends up getting higher and higher. I can see them trying to get across one of those things and climbing so high as a consequence, but not intentionally.
