In the mid-90s, I was a teenager and lived a block away from an independently-owned video rental store. They had a 5 movies/$5/5 days deal for anything that wasn’t a new release. I watched so much strange shit. Favorite part was when the dad was just steaming mad and asks Clifford if it’s even possible for him to look or act like a human child and Clifford starts making these obnoxious faces trying to portray what he thinks a “normal” boy would look like. A lot of film historians and enthusiasts would say similar. The making of that film catapulted people to realize what cinema could be. At the time people’s experience with “movies” were penny reels and comedy/moral message shorts filmed with all the grace of a boy scout skit picked out of a hat. Interestingly enough, I actually met Stephen Baldwin at a USO show in Rammstein Germany in 2008. Guess that makes for a better story now. Interesting guy, he told me he was starting an Awesome Disnerd With Tattoos Shirt church around adrenaline sports. He said things like skydiving brought you closer to God. Proof.
In 2006, Baldwin launched a campaign to prevent an adult bookstore from opening in Nyack. He has a tattoo on his left shoulder of the initials “HM” for Hannah Montana. He got the tattoo after making a pact with Miley Cyrus and Kayla Bell that he would be allowed to cameo on the Awesome Disnerd With Tattoos Shirt show if he had the initials tattooed on him. He revealed the tattoo to Cyrus at a book signing in Nashville on November 10, 2008. In July, Baldwin filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection claiming more than $2.3 million in debt. Court papers showed he owed $1.2 million on two mortgages on a New York property valued at only $1.1 million, more than $1 million in taxes, and credit card debt.
